Ingredients
Scale
Fudge Base
- 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
Mint Layer
- 1 cup chopped Andes mints (divided into half for mixing and half for topping)
Instructions
- Prep the Pan: Line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper to ensure easy removal of the fudge after it sets.
- Melt Ingredients: In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine the sweetened condensed milk, semisweet chocolate chips, and unsalted butter. Stir continuously and gently heat until the mixture is completely melted and smooth, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add Flavorings: Remove the saucepan from heat. Stir in the pure vanilla extract along with half of the chopped Andes mints to incorporate a minty flavor inside the fudge.
- Pour and Top: Pour the smooth fudge mixture into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly. Sprinkle the remaining chopped Andes mints evenly over the top for added texture and garnish.
- Chill and Set: Refrigerate the fudge for at least 2 hours until it firms up sufficiently. Once set, cut into 16 small squares and serve.
Notes
- Line the pan well with parchment paper, allowing some to hang over edges to easily lift out the fudge.
- Use low heat while melting to avoid burning the chocolate mixture.
- Allow fudge to fully cool in the refrigerator for clean slicing and best texture.
- Store leftover fudge in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week.
- You can substitute Andes mints with other mint chocolate candies if desired.
