Ingredients
Scale
Crust
- 1 can refrigerated biscuit dough (or 1 batch homemade biscuit dough)
Sausage Gravy
- 1/2 pound breakfast sausage
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 1/4 cups whole milk
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
Toppings
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 4 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon butter or oil (for eggs)
- Chopped fresh parsley or green onions for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat and prepare crust: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking sheet or pizza pan. Roll or press the biscuit dough into a 10–12 inch circle or rectangle, pressing the seams together to form a solid crust. Bake for 8–10 minutes until lightly golden.
- Cook sausage and make gravy: While the crust bakes, cook the breakfast sausage in a skillet over medium heat until browned and crumbled, leaving the fat in the pan. Stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute to remove the raw flour taste. Gradually whisk in milk and cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens, about 3–5 minutes. Season with salt, black pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes if using. Remove from heat.
- Scramble the eggs: In a separate pan, scramble the eggs in butter or oil over medium heat until just set. They will finish cooking in the oven later.
- Assemble the pizza: Spread the hot sausage gravy evenly over the partially baked biscuit crust. Top with the scrambled eggs and shredded cheddar cheese.
- Bake the assembled pizza: Return the pizza to the oven and bake for an additional 8–10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the biscuit crust is fully cooked.
- Garnish and serve: Remove from the oven, garnish with chopped parsley or green onions if desired, slice, and serve warm.
Notes
- You can prepare the gravy and scramble the eggs ahead of time to save morning prep.
- Add crumbled bacon, diced peppers, or hot sauce for extra flavor.
