Description

Indulge in these fun and whimsical Cookie Monster Cookies that are a delightful mashup of chocolate chip cookies loaded with mini Oreos and Chips Ahoy, all in a vibrant blue hue. Perfect for kids and kids at heart!

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Blue gel food coloring
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1 cup mini Oreos, roughly chopped
  • 1 cup mini Chips Ahoy cookies
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chip cookies for topping (optional)
  • Candy eyes for decoration

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Cream butter and sugars: In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla: Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition, then mix in the vanilla extract.
  4. Add food coloring: Stir in blue gel food coloring until the desired Cookie Monster blue is achieved.
  5. Combine dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to the wet mixture.
  6. Add mix-ins: Fold in chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, chopped mini Oreos, and chopped mini Chips Ahoy.
  7. Scoop and decorate: Scoop dough balls onto baking sheets and press extra mini cookies and candy eyes on top.
  8. Bake: Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are set but centers are still soft.
  9. Cool and enjoy: Let cool on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack.
