- 2 large yellow onions, finely chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
For Dip:
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 1/2 cups sour cream
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- Chopped fresh chives for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Caramelize Onions: In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add onions, salt, pepper, and sugar. Cook for 20–25 minutes until golden. Let cool.
- Prepare Dip: In a bowl, mix sour cream, mayonnaise, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder. Stir in caramelized onions. Chill for 1 hour.
- Serve: Garnish with chives. Enjoy with chips or veggies.
Notes
- For a lighter version, use Greek yogurt instead of sour cream.
- Dip can be made 3 days ahead and refrigerated.
