Penne Pasta:
- 300 g penne pasta
Sauce:
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 400 g canned chopped tomatoes
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 150 ml heavy cream
- 1 tsp sugar
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1/2 tsp chili flakes (optional)
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 small bunch fresh basil leaves, torn
- 50 g grated Parmesan cheese, plus extra for serving
Instructions
- Cook the Penne Pasta: Boil penne pasta until al dente, then drain and set aside.
- Prepare the Sauce: Sauté garlic in olive oil, then add tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, oregano, and chili flakes. Simmer until thickened.
- Finish the Dish: Stir in cream, season with salt and pepper, then add pasta to the sauce. Mix in Parmesan and basil, and serve hot with extra cheese and basil.
