For the beef patties:
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/3 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon mustard powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 egg
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
For the gravy:
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 small onion, thinly sliced
- 1 cup sliced mushrooms
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce (for gravy)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Prepare the beef patties: In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, mustard powder, garlic powder, onion powder, egg, salt, and pepper. Shape into 4 oval patties.
- Cook the patties: Brown the patties in olive oil in a skillet. Set aside.
- Make the gravy: In the same skillet, sauté onions and mushrooms. Add flour, beef broth, and Worcestershire sauce. Simmer and return patties to the skillet.
- Serve: Cook covered until patties are done and gravy thickens. Season to taste and serve hot.
