Description

This Easy Streusel Pumpkin Bread recipe is a delightful treat that perfectly captures the flavors of fall. The moist pumpkin bread is spiced with cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and ginger, and topped with a sweet, buttery streusel for a crunchy finish.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Pumpkin Bread:

  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar (packed)
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup canned pumpkin puree
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Streusel Topping:

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar (packed)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (cold and cubed)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven and prepare the pan: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. Mix dry ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and ginger.
  3. Combine wet ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk granulated sugar, brown sugar, oil, and eggs until smooth. Stir in pumpkin puree, milk, and vanilla extract.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  5. Make streusel topping: In a small bowl, mix the flour, brown sugar, granulated sugar, and cinnamon. Cut in the cold butter until crumbly.
  6. Top the batter: Sprinkle the streusel evenly over the batter.
  7. Bake: Bake for 55–65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Cool and serve: Let cool in the pan for 15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

  • For added texture, mix 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts into the streusel topping.
  • This bread tastes even better the next day as the spices deepen in flavor.
