Spaghetti or Pasta:

  • 12 ounces spaghetti or pasta of choice

Garlic Butter Sauce:

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 6 garlic cloves, minced
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Additional Ingredients:

  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ¼ cup chopped fresh parsley
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • ½ cup reserved pasta water

Instructions

  1. Cook the Pasta: Boil pasta in salted water until al dente. Reserve ½ cup pasta water before draining.
  2. Prepare Garlic Butter Sauce: Melt butter in a pot, add garlic and red pepper flakes, cook until fragrant.
  3. Combine Ingredients: Return pasta to pot, add reserved water, toss with butter and garlic. Mix in Parmesan cheese and parsley.
  4. Season and Serve: Season with salt and pepper, garnish with extra cheese and parsley. Serve hot.
