Description

Godfather’s Taco Pizza is a delicious fusion of classic taco flavors and cheesy pizza goodness. This easy-to-make recipe features seasoned ground beef, a blend of cheddar and mozzarella cheeses, and fresh toppings like tomatoes, jalapeños, and olives all baked on a crispy 12-inch pizza dough. Finished with a cooling drizzle of sour cream, it’s perfect for a flavorful weeknight dinner or game day snack.

Ingredients

Scale

Meat and Seasoning

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning (1 oz)

Cheeses

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Base

  • 1 pre-made pizza dough (12 inches)

Toppings

  • 1 cup chopped tomatoes
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • ¼ cup sliced jalapeños (optional)
  • ¼ cup sliced black olives (optional)

Finish

  • ½ cup sour cream (for drizzling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) to ensure it’s hot and ready for baking the pizza.
  2. Prepare Dough: Roll out the pre-made pizza dough on a floured surface until it’s about 12 inches in diameter. Then transfer it to a parchment-lined baking sheet for easy handling and baking.
  3. Cook Beef: In a skillet over medium heat, brown the lean ground beef thoroughly until it’s fully cooked and no longer pink. Drain any excess fat. Stir in the taco seasoning as per the package instructions to coat the beef evenly with flavor.
  4. Assemble Pizza: Spread the seasoned beef evenly over the rolled-out pizza dough. Sprinkle shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses generously on top. Add fresh toppings like chopped tomatoes, shredded lettuce, and optional sliced jalapeños and black olives.
  5. Bake Pizza: Place the pizza in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown and the crust is cooked through.
  6. Finish and Serve: Remove the pizza from the oven and drizzle the top with sour cream. Slice into portions and serve hot for maximum enjoyment.

Notes

  • For extra heat, keep the jalapeños; omit if you prefer milder flavors.
  • You can substitute pre-made pizza dough with a homemade crust if preferred.
  • The shredded lettuce is added fresh after baking for crunch; avoid adding it before baking to keep it crisp.
  • Sour cream drizzle adds a creamy contrast to the savory toppings—feel free to use a dollop instead of drizzling.
  • To make it gluten-free, use gluten-free pizza dough.
