Main Ingredients
- 2 teaspoons instant coffee (preferably Nescafé)
- 2 teaspoons sugar (adjust to taste)
- 2 tablespoons cold water
- 1/2 cup cold water or milk (or a mix)
- Ice cubes
- Optional: evaporated milk or cream for topping
Instructions
- Make the Coffee Foam: In a shaker, jar with a tight lid, or a handheld frother cup, combine the instant coffee, sugar, and 2 tablespoons of cold water. Shake or froth vigorously for about 15–30 seconds until a thick, foamy layer forms.
- Prepare the Glass: Fill a tall glass halfway with ice cubes to chill the drink effectively.
- Assemble the Frappe: Pour the thick coffee foam into the glass over the ice cubes.
- Add Liquid: Top the glass with your choice of cold water, milk, or a combination of both, filling it to your desired level.
- Final Touch: Stir gently to combine the foam with the liquid. Optionally, add a splash of evaporated milk or cream on top for extra richness.
- Serve: Serve immediately with a straw and enjoy your refreshing Greek frappe.
Notes
- For a stronger coffee flavor, increase the instant coffee to 3 teaspoons.
- Adjust sweetness based on preference: “sketo” means no sugar, “metrio” medium sweet (1–2 teaspoons sugar), and “glyko” sweet (2–3 teaspoons sugar).
- Use water instead of milk for a dairy-free version.
