Main Ingredients:
- 1 pound ground lamb or beef (or a mix)
- 1/3 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup red onion (finely chopped)
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley (chopped)
- 1 tablespoon fresh mint (chopped)
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (for cooking)
Instructions
- Mix the Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the ground meat, breadcrumbs, red onion, garlic, parsley, mint, oregano, cumin, salt, pepper, and egg. Mix gently until just combined—do not overmix.
- Shape the Meatballs: Shape into 1 1/2-inch meatballs using your hands or a small scoop.
- Cook the Meatballs: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add meatballs in a single layer and cook for 8–10 minutes, turning occasionally, until browned on all sides and cooked through.
- Serve: Transfer to a paper towel–lined plate to drain. Serve warm with tzatziki, pita, and a Greek salad.
Notes
- These meatballs can also be baked at 400°F (200°C) for 18–20 minutes for a lighter option.
- They freeze well, making them great for meal prep.
