Ground Beef Mixture:
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce
Cheese Mixture:
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup cottage cheese
Additional Ingredients:
- 8 oz egg noodles, cooked and drained
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- Chopped fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook Ground Beef: In a skillet, cook beef, onion, garlic until browned. Drain excess grease. Add salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and tomato sauce. Simmer.
- Prepare Cheese Mixture: Combine sour cream and cottage cheese in a bowl.
- Layer Ingredients: In a greased baking dish, layer noodles, sour cream mixture, beef mixture, and cheddar cheese. Repeat layers.
- Bake: Cover with foil, bake for 20 minutes, then uncover and bake for an additional 10 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Serve: Let cool slightly, garnish with parsley if desired.
Notes
- You can substitute Greek yogurt for sour cream or ricotta for cottage cheese.
