Description

This Honey Garlic Lemon Pepper Chicken Thighs recipe features tender, juicy boneless skinless chicken thighs seared to golden perfection and glazed with a flavorful honey, garlic, and tangy lemon pepper sauce. The combination of sweet honey and zesty lemon pepper seasoning creates a mouthwatering dish that is quick and easy to prepare, perfect for a weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken

  • 1 pound boneless skinless chicken thighs
  • Salt, to taste
  • Lemon pepper seasoning, to taste
  • Cooking oil, as needed
  • 5 slices of lemon

Sauce

  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 teaspoons lemon pepper seasoning
  • Juice of half a lemon

Instructions

  1. Mix the Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, 3 teaspoons of lemon pepper seasoning, and the juice of half a lemon until well combined. Set this sauce aside for later use.
  2. Season and Brown the Chicken: Heat cooking oil in a medium skillet over medium-high heat. While the oil heats, pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels. Season one side generously with salt and lemon pepper seasoning. Place the chicken in the skillet, seasoned side down, then season the other side. Sear the chicken until golden brown on both sides and about 90% cooked through, approximately 6-8 minutes total.
  3. Add Lemons and Sauce: Reduce the heat to medium-low. Arrange lemon slices around the chicken in the skillet, then pour the prepared honey garlic lemon pepper sauce over the chicken. Increase heat back to medium until the sauce begins to bubble. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes, occasionally spooning the sauce over the chicken to baste and glaze it.
  4. Finish and Serve: Once the sauce has thickened and the chicken is fully cooked, remove the skillet from heat. Allow the sauce to cool slightly. Spoon additional sauce over the chicken before serving. Remove the lemon slices before plating and enjoy your flavorful dish.

Notes

  • Patting the chicken dry before seasoning helps achieve a better sear and crispier texture.
  • Adjust the amount of honey or lemon juice to balance sweetness and tartness to your liking.
  • Use low sodium soy sauce if you want to reduce the salt content.
  • This dish pairs well with steamed rice, roasted vegetables, or a fresh salad.
  • Ensure the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) for safe consumption.
