Spaghetti:
- 12 oz spaghetti
Meat Sauce:
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 lb ground beef or Italian sausage
- 1 small onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (24 oz) jar marinara sauce
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Cheese Mixture:
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Garnish:
- Chopped fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Cook the spaghetti: Cook the spaghetti according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Prepare the meat sauce: In a large skillet, heat olive oil and cook the ground beef or sausage with onion until browned. Add garlic, marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer.
- Combine spaghetti and cheese: In a mixing bowl, whisk eggs and Parmesan cheese. Toss with cooked spaghetti.
- Assemble the bake: Layer half of the spaghetti, meat sauce, and mozzarella in the baking dish. Repeat with remaining ingredients.
- Bake: Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 10 minutes until golden and bubbly.
- Rest and serve: Let the dish rest for 5 minutes before garnishing with basil or parsley and serving.

- You can substitute the ground beef with turkey or a plant-based alternative.
