Spaghetti:

  • 12 oz spaghetti

Meat Sauce:

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 lb ground beef or Italian sausage
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (24 oz) jar marinara sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Cheese Mixture:

  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Garnish:

  • Chopped fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Cook the spaghetti: Cook the spaghetti according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. Prepare the meat sauce: In a large skillet, heat olive oil and cook the ground beef or sausage with onion until browned. Add garlic, marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer.
  4. Combine spaghetti and cheese: In a mixing bowl, whisk eggs and Parmesan cheese. Toss with cooked spaghetti.
  5. Assemble the bake: Layer half of the spaghetti, meat sauce, and mozzarella in the baking dish. Repeat with remaining ingredients.
  6. Bake: Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 10 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  7. Rest and serve: Let the dish rest for 5 minutes before garnishing with basil or parsley and serving.
