For the shrimp:

  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 lemon (zested and juiced)
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

For the asparagus:

  • 1 bunch asparagus, trimmed and cut into 2-inch pieces

Instructions

  1. Cook the asparagus: In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the asparagus and cook for 3–4 minutes until crisp-tender. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  2. Sauté the shrimp: Add the remaining olive oil to the skillet, then add the garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant. Add the shrimp, season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes, and cook for 2–3 minutes per side until pink and opaque.
  3. Combine and finish: Return the asparagus to the skillet, add lemon zest and juice, and toss everything to combine. Cook for 1–2 more minutes to heat through. Sprinkle with chopped parsley and serve immediately.
