Description

Indulge in the warm, comforting goodness of homemade Maple Cinnamon Rolls with a delectable maple glaze. These soft, sweet breakfast treats are perfect for a cozy morning or a delightful dessert.

Ingredients

Scale

Dough:

  • 3 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk (110°F)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Filling:

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened

Maple Glaze:

  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
  • 2–3 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Dough: In a large bowl, combine warm milk and sugar. Sprinkle in the yeast and let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy. Add melted butter, egg, and salt. Stir in flour gradually until a soft dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 6–8 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  2. Filling: Punch down the dough and roll it out into a 10×16-inch rectangle. Spread the softened butter over the surface, then sprinkle evenly with brown sugar and cinnamon. Roll up tightly from the long edge and slice into 12 equal rolls. Place in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Cover and let rise again for 30–45 minutes until puffy.
  3. Baking: Preheat oven to 350°F. Bake the rolls for 22–25 minutes until golden brown.
  4. Maple Glaze: While the rolls bake, whisk together the powdered sugar, maple syrup, milk, vanilla, and a pinch of salt to make the glaze. Drizzle the glaze over the warm rolls and serve.

Notes

  • For an overnight version, prepare the rolls up to the second rise and refrigerate overnight. Let them come to room temperature before baking in the morning.
