Ingredients
Scale
Crust
- 1 package (14 oz) golden or vanilla sandwich cookies, crushed
- 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
Cream Cheese Layers
- 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk (dairy or non-dairy)
- 1 container (8 oz) whipped topping (such as Cool Whip), thawed
- Red food coloring
- Green food coloring
Pudding Layer
- 1 box (3.4 oz) instant vanilla pudding mix
- 1 1/2 cups cold milk (dairy or non-dairy)
Garnish
- Crushed candy canes or holiday sprinkles
Instructions
- Prepare the crust: In a bowl, mix the crushed golden or vanilla sandwich cookies with melted unsalted butter until the mixture resembles wet sand. Press half of this mixture into the bottom of a trifle dish or a 9×9-inch dish to form an even crust layer. Chill in the refrigerator to set.
- Make the cream cheese filling: Beat the softened cream cheese in a bowl until smooth. Add the powdered sugar and 2 tablespoons of milk, mixing until creamy and smooth. Gently fold in half of the whipped topping to create a fluffy, light cream cheese filling.
- Color the cream cheese mixtures: Divide the cream cheese filling evenly into two separate bowls. Add red food coloring to one bowl and green food coloring to the other, mixing each until the color is evenly distributed.
- Prepare the pudding: In a separate bowl, whisk together the instant vanilla pudding mix and 1 1/2 cups of cold milk. Whisk continuously for about 5 minutes until the pudding thickens.
- Assemble the layers: Spread the green cream cheese mixture evenly over the chilled cookie crust. Next, spoon the thickened vanilla pudding layer over the green cream cheese layer.
- Add the red cream cheese layer: Carefully spread the red cream cheese mixture on top of the pudding layer, creating a vibrant layered effect.
- Add remaining cookie crumbs and toppings: Sprinkle the remaining crushed cookie crumbs evenly over the red cream cheese layer. Top with the remaining whipped topping and garnish with crushed candy canes or holiday sprinkles to add festive flair.
- Chill before serving: Refrigerate the assembled trifle for at least 4 hours or preferably overnight to allow the layers to set and flavors to meld. Serve chilled and enjoy your no-bake Christmas lasagna trifle.
