Description

Delight in these delicate Nutella cream-filled crepes, perfect for a decadent breakfast or dessert. Thin, golden crepes are filled with a luscious blend of airy whipped cream and rich Nutella, then dusted with powdered sugar and garnished with fresh berries for an elegant finish.

Ingredients

Scale

Crepe Batter

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 1/4 cups milk
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar

Nutella Cream Filling

  • 1/2 cup Nutella
  • 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

For Serving and Garnish

  • Powdered sugar for dusting
  • Fresh berries (strawberries, raspberries, etc.)
  • Whipped cream (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Crepe Batter: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, eggs, milk, melted butter, vanilla extract, salt, and sugar until smooth and lump-free. For best results, let the batter rest for 15 to 20 minutes to relax the gluten and achieve a tender crepe.
  2. Heat the Pan: Warm a nonstick skillet or crepe pan over medium heat. Lightly grease it with butter or cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  3. Cook the Crepes: Pour about 1/4 cup of batter into the center of the pan, quickly swirling it around to coat the entire surface with a thin layer. Cook for 1 to 2 minutes, until the edges start to lift, then carefully flip and cook the other side for 30 seconds to 1 minute until golden brown.
  4. Stack and Keep Warm: Remove the cooked crepe and place it on a plate. Repeat with the remaining batter, stacking the crepes. Keep them warm by covering with a clean kitchen towel or placing them in a low-heat oven.
  5. Make the Nutella Cream Filling: In a medium bowl, beat the heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract together until soft peaks form. Gently fold in the Nutella until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  6. Fill the Crepes: Lay a crepe flat on a plate and spoon 2 to 3 tablespoons of Nutella cream filling onto the center. Fold the crepe into quarters or roll it up, as preferred.
  7. Serve and Garnish: Repeat with the remaining crepes and filling. Dust the filled crepes with powdered sugar and garnish with fresh berries and extra whipped cream if desired. Serve immediately for best taste.

Notes

  • Allowing the batter to rest helps create more tender crepes.
  • Use a nonstick pan to avoid tearing the delicate crepes.
  • Gently fold the Nutella into whipped cream to maintain a light and fluffy texture.
  • Crepes are best served fresh but can be refrigerated for up to 1 day.
  • Variations can include adding chopped nuts or using different spreads in the filling.
