Description

Celebrate patriotic holidays with these irresistible Patriotic Brownie Bombs—chewy brownie balls filled with Oreo cookies, dipped in melted white chocolate, and decorated with red, white, and blue sprinkles. Perfectly festive, easy to make, and a crowd-pleasing dessert for any American celebration.

Ingredients

Scale

Brownie Base

  • 1 box brownie mix (plus ingredients listed on the box)
  • 1–2 tablespoons frosting (optional, for binding)

Filling

  • 12 Oreo cookies (red velvet Oreos optional)

Coating and Decoration

  • 1 1/2 cups white chocolate or vanilla candy coating (melted)
  • Red, white, and blue sprinkles
  • Optional: food coloring (red and blue) for chocolate drizzle

Instructions

  1. Prepare Brownies: Preheat the oven according to the brownie mix package directions. Prepare the brownie batter as instructed and bake in a 9×13-inch pan. Allow the brownies to cool completely before proceeding.
  2. Crumble Brownies and Mix: Once cooled, crumble the brownies into a large bowl. Mix the crumbs thoroughly until the texture is sticky enough to form into balls. If needed, add 1–2 tablespoons of frosting to help bind the mixture.
  3. Form Brownie Bombs: Flatten a spoonful of the brownie mixture in your hand, place one Oreo cookie in the center, and wrap the brownie mixture fully around the Oreo forming a sealed ball. Repeat this process with the remaining brownie mixture and Oreos. Place each brownie bomb onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  4. Freeze to Firm Up: Freeze the brownie bombs for 15–20 minutes to allow them to firm up and hold their shape better for dipping.
  5. Dip in Chocolate: Dip each brownie bomb into the melted white chocolate using a fork to fully coat it. Place the coated bombs back on the parchment-lined baking sheet immediately.
  6. Decorate: While the coating is still wet, sprinkle the brownie bombs with the red, white, and blue sprinkles. For extra flair, drizzle some melted white chocolate colored with red and blue food coloring over the coated bombs.
  7. Chill and Serve: Chill the brownie bombs in the refrigerator for about 10–15 minutes or until the chocolate coating has fully set. Serve chilled or at room temperature for best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • Use red velvet Oreos for an extra patriotic and flavorful twist.
  • Brownie bombs can be made up to 2 days in advance and stored in the refrigerator to maintain freshness.
  • If the brownie mixture is too dry, add a little frosting or cream cheese to help bind the mixture.
  • Make sure to freeze the brownie bombs before dipping to prevent them from falling apart in the coating.
