Description

This Pineapple Strawberry Agua Fresca is a refreshing, naturally sweetened summer beverage combining fresh pineapple and strawberries with a hint of lime and honey. Perfectly chilled and served over ice, this vibrant drink offers a healthy, hydrating option that’s easy to make and enjoyable for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale

Fruit Base

  • 2 cups fresh pineapple chunks
  • 1 1/2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled

Liquids & Sweeteners

  • 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 2–3 tablespoons honey or agave syrup (adjust to taste)
  • 3 cups cold water

To Serve

  • Ice cubes
  • Fresh mint or lime slices for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: In a blender, add the pineapple chunks, hulled strawberries, freshly squeezed lime juice, honey or agave syrup, and 1 cup of cold water. This mixture forms the flavorful base of your agua fresca.
  2. Blend Until Smooth: Blend the ingredients on high speed until the mixture is completely smooth and uniform in texture, ensuring all fruit pieces are well pureed.
  3. Strain (Optional): Pour the blended mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a large pitcher to remove the pulp, which will result in a smoother, cleaner drink. Skipping this step keeps more fiber.
  4. Add Remaining Water: Stir in the remaining 2 cups of cold water to dilute and balance the flavor and consistency.
  5. Adjust Sweetness: Taste the agua fresca and add more honey or agave if you prefer it sweeter.
  6. Chill or Serve: Refrigerate the agua fresca for at least 30 minutes to chill, or serve immediately over a glass filled with ice cubes.
  7. Garnish and Enjoy: Garnish with fresh mint leaves or lime slices if desired, adding a fresh aromatic touch to your refreshing drink.

Notes

  • For a frozen version, use frozen pineapple and strawberries, and reduce the water slightly to achieve a slushier texture.
  • This drink is best consumed the same day it’s made but can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
  • Add a splash of sparkling water before serving for a fizzy twist that livens up the flavor.
  • If you prefer a smoother drink without pulp, always strain before serving.
