Crust:

Caramel Filling:
- 1 (11-ounce) bag soft caramels (unwrapped)
- 3 tablespoons heavy cream
- 1/2 teaspoon flaky sea salt
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare: Preheat the oven to 325°F (163°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang for easy removal.
- Mix Crust: Cream softened butter, powdered sugar, and granulated sugar until fluffy. Add vanilla, then mix in flour and salt to form a dough.
- Press and Bake: Press two-thirds of the dough into the pan and bake for 20 minutes until lightly golden.
- Prepare Caramel: Melt caramels with heavy cream in a saucepan until smooth. Pour over baked crust, sprinkle with sea salt.
- Finish and Bake: Crumble remaining dough over caramel, press gently, and bake for 25–30 minutes until golden. Cool before slicing into bars.

- Bars are easier to slice when chilled.
