Description

A comforting and flavorful dish featuring roasted sweet potatoes and smoked sausage coated in a delectable honey garlic sauce. This easy sheet pan dinner is perfect for a simple and satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Sausage and Sweet Potatoes:

  • 1 pound smoked sausage (sliced into 1/2-inch pieces)
  • 2 large sweet potatoes (peeled and cut into 1-inch cubes)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

For the Honey Garlic Sauce:

  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare the sweet potatoes: In a large bowl, toss the sweet potato cubes with olive oil, salt, pepper, smoked paprika, and garlic powder. Spread on the baking sheet, roast for 20 minutes.
  3. Add sausage: Remove from the oven, add the sausage slices, toss together. Roast for an additional 15 minutes until tender.
  4. Make the sauce: In a saucepan, simmer honey, soy sauce, garlic, and vinegar until thickened.
  5. Combine: Drizzle the sauce over the roasted sausage and sweet potatoes, toss to coat, and serve warm.

Notes

  • For extra heat, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce.
  • This dish pairs well with a fresh green salad or roasted Brussels sprouts.
