Ingredients
Scale
Crescent Rolls
- 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent rolls
Egg Mixture
- 4 large eggs
- 1/4 cup milk
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 tablespoon butter
Sausage Filling
- 1/2 lb breakfast sausage (or any ground sausage)
Cheese and Garnish
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or your favorite cheese)
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it to prepare for baking.
- Cook the Sausage: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the breakfast sausage until it is browned and fully cooked through, breaking it up into small crumbles. Remove from the skillet and drain any excess fat.
- Scramble the Eggs: In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper until fully blended. In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat, then pour in the egg mixture. Cook, stirring occasionally, until eggs are scrambled and fully cooked. Remove from heat and set aside.
- Assemble the Crescent Rolls: Open the can of crescent rolls and separate them into individual triangle pieces on a flat surface. Place a spoonful of cooked sausage onto the center of each crescent triangle, add some scrambled eggs on top, then sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese.
- Roll and Bake: Starting at the wide end, carefully roll up each crescent triangle enclosing the filling and place the rolls on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until the crescent rolls are golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Serve: Remove the rolls from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired, and serve warm for the best flavor and texture.
Notes
- You can substitute breakfast sausage with turkey sausage or vegetarian sausage for a lighter or vegetarian option.
- Feel free to use different types of cheese such as mozzarella, pepper jack, or Swiss according to your preference.
- For extra flavor, add finely diced onions or bell peppers to the sausage while cooking.
- These crescent rolls can be prepared ahead of time and baked fresh when ready to serve.
- Make sure to fully cook the sausage and eggs before assembling to ensure food safety.
