- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract (optional)
- 2 tablespoons milk

Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Prepare dry ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- Cream butter and sugar: In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 2–3 minutes.
- Add wet ingredients: Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, almond extract if using, and milk until smooth.
- Mix dry and wet ingredients: Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until fully combined and a soft dough forms.
- Shape and bake: Scoop tablespoon-sized amounts of dough, roll into balls, coat with granulated sugar, and place on baking sheet. Bake for 9–11 minutes until edges are set but centers are slightly soft. Cool before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
- For extra flavor and color, add sprinkles or colored sugar on top before baking.
- Store cookies in an airtight container to keep them soft for days.
