Ingredients
Scale
For the Chicken:
- 4 boneless skinless chicken thighs
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
For the Rice:
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 cup jasmine rice
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 2 green onions, sliced
- Sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
- Marinate the Chicken: In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, honey, garlic, and ginger. Season chicken thighs with salt and pepper, then pour the sauce over the chicken to marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- Cook the Chicken: Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear chicken thighs for 3–4 minutes per side until browned. Remove chicken and set aside.
- Prepare the Rice: In the same skillet, add sesame oil and rice, toasting for 1 minute. Pour in chicken broth, scraping up any browned bits. Nestle chicken back into the rice, cover, and simmer over low heat for 18–20 minutes until rice is tender and chicken is cooked through.
- Serve: Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
Notes
- You can substitute chicken breast for thighs, adjusting cooking time slightly.
- For added flavor, consider adding a splash of rice vinegar or chili flakes to the sauce.
