Ingredients
Scale
Pizza Dough
- 3/4 cup warm water (100 to 105 degrees F)
- 3/4 Tablespoon honey
- 3/4 Tablespoon vegetable oil
- 3/4 Tablespoon instant yeast
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
Filling
- 8 ounces mozzarella cheese, cut into small cubes
- Pizza toppings of your choice (pepperoni, ham, veggies, pineapple, etc.)
Topping
- 1 Tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 2 Tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
Serving
- Pizza sauce and/or ranch dressing for dipping
Instructions
- Preheat and prepare pan: Preheat your oven to 400°F (204°C). Grease a 9-inch deep-dish pie plate or a 9×9-inch square baking dish and set it aside.
- Make the dough: In the bowl of an electric stand mixer fitted with a dough hook, combine warm water, honey, vegetable oil, instant yeast, and salt. Gradually add the all-purpose flour until a soft dough forms that pulls away from the bowl’s sides. Mix and knead the dough in the stand mixer for about 3 minutes until smooth and soft.
- Rest and roll out dough: Cover the dough with a kitchen towel and let it rest for 10 minutes. After resting, roll the dough out on a lightly floured surface into a 14×12-inch rectangle.
- Cut and fill dough squares: Cut the dough rectangle into 16 equal squares. Place a small amount of mozzarella cheese cubes and your chosen pizza toppings onto each square, being careful not to overfill.
- Seal and arrange rolls: Bring all four corners of each dough square up over the filling and pinch them together tightly to seal the filling inside. Place each sealed dough ball seam side down in the prepared baking dish, arranging all 16 rolls close together.
- Add topping and bake: Brush the tops of the stuffed rolls with olive oil. Evenly sprinkle garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and grated Parmesan cheese over the tops. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
- Cool and serve: Remove the dish from the oven and allow the rolls to cool for 5 minutes. Serve warm with pizza sauce and/or ranch dressing for dipping. Enjoy!
Notes
- You can customize the filling with your favorite pizza toppings, such as mushrooms, bell peppers, olives, or cooked sausage.
- Ensure the dough is sealed tightly to prevent filling from leaking during baking.
- If you prefer a crispier crust, bake a few extra minutes, keeping a close eye to avoid burning.
- These rolls can be made ahead of time and reheated in the oven for a few minutes before serving.
- Use warm water to activate the yeast properly but avoid water that is too hot, which can kill the yeast.
