Tuna Salad
- 2 cans (5 oz each) tuna, drained
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- 1/4 cup celery, finely chopped

- 1/4 tsp black pepper
Sandwich
- 4 slices bread (sourdough, rye, or your choice)
- 4 slices cheddar or Swiss cheese
- 2 tbsp butter, softened
Instructions
- Prepare Tuna Salad: In a mixing bowl, combine the drained tuna, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, finely chopped celery, red onion, salt, and black pepper. Stir all the ingredients together until evenly mixed and creamy.
- Assemble Sandwiches: Lay out the bread slices on a clean surface. Spoon the tuna mixture evenly onto two slices of bread, spreading it out gently but thoroughly.
- Add Cheese: Place one slice of cheddar or Swiss cheese over each slice of bread that has the tuna mixture.
- Complete Sandwich: Top each cheese-covered slice with the remaining bread slices to form two complete sandwiches.
- Butter the Bread: Spread softened butter on the outside faces of each sandwich to ensure a golden, crispy exterior when grilled.
- Grill Sandwiches: Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat. Place the sandwiches on the skillet and press down gently with a spatula. Grill each side for 3–4 minutes or until the bread turns golden brown and the cheese melts.
- Serve: Remove the sandwiches from the skillet, slice them in half if desired, and serve warm for the best taste and texture.
