Description

A deliciously creamy and flavorful White Garlic Pizza featuring a crispy crust topped with ricotta and mozzarella cheeses, fragrant sautéed garlic, and a hint of Parmesan, garnished with fresh herbs for a perfect homemade vegetarian meal.

Ingredients

Scale

Pizza Base

  • 1 pound pizza dough
  • cornmeal or flour for dusting

Garlic Oil

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)

Cheese Mixture

  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

Garnish

  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley or basil

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C) and place a pizza stone or baking sheet inside to heat thoroughly for a crisp crust.
  2. Prepare Dough: Roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface to your preferred thickness, ensuring an even shape for consistent baking.
  3. Transfer Dough: Sprinkle cornmeal or flour onto a pizza peel or a baking sheet, then carefully transfer the rolled dough onto it for easy handling.
  4. Make Garlic Oil: In a small skillet over medium heat, warm the olive oil and sauté the minced garlic for 1–2 minutes until fragrant and softened, being careful not to brown it.
  5. Mix Ricotta: Combine ricotta cheese with salt, black pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes (if using) in a small bowl, mixing until smooth.
  6. Spread Cheese Mixture: Evenly spread the ricotta mixture over the rolled dough, leaving a small border around the edges to form a crust.
  7. Add Garlic Oil and Cheeses: Drizzle the warm garlic oil over the ricotta layer, then sprinkle shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese evenly on top.
  8. Bake the Pizza: Slide the prepared pizza carefully onto the preheated stone or baking sheet and bake for 10–13 minutes, until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly and slightly browned.
  9. Garnish and Serve: Remove the pizza from the oven and sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley or basil. Slice and serve immediately for the best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • For extra flavor and texture, consider adding sautéed mushrooms, caramelized onions, or fresh spinach before baking.
  • If using store-bought pizza dough, allow it to rest at room temperature for 30 minutes to make it easier to stretch and handle.
